From mourning to funeral planning of Queen Elizabeth II

The United Kingdom and the rest of the world are still trying to come to terms the loss Queen Elizabeth II. Plans are in place for Her Majesty’s Funeral. King Charles was officially proclaimed king at a historic St. James’s Palace ceremony that was televised on Saturday, September 10th.

There are many changes that must be made following Queen Elizabeth II’s death. The Royal Family and UK observe a 10-day mourning period before Her Majesty’s funeral. This takes place at Westminster Abbey.

HOW MANY DAYS IS IT GOING TO BE MOURNING AFTER THE DEATH OF THE QUEEN?

Officially, there are 10 days of national mourning. They started on Friday September 9, 2022. The Queen’s reign will be remembered through a variety of private arrangements.

Flags flying at half-mast at royal residences and other national flags across the country will be flown. Services and tributes will also be held. Military honors will also be given. On Friday afternoon, there was a gun salute at London’s Hyde Park. One round per year was fired. There was also a remembrance ceremony at St Paul’s Cathedral.

The Queen’s coffin remained in Balmoral Castle’s Ballroom. However, on Sunday 11 September, it was taken to Edinburgh’s Palace of Holyroodhouse. On Monday, September 12th, a procession took Her Majesty’s coffin to St Giles’ cathedral, where family members can pay their respects. The King and Queen Consort return to Scotland for this solemn occasion.

The Queen’s coffin was scheduled to be flown to London the next day.

The Queen’s state funeral are held 10 days after her death. Her Majesty’s funeral date has been confirmed at Monday, September 19, 2022.

The United Kingdom will observe a public holiday for the Queen’s funeral so that everyone can pay their respects.

Before the funeral, Her Majesty rest in Westminster Hall. The funeral takes place at 11am on September 19, at Westminster Abbey. This will allow members of the public to pay their respects, should they choose, to the Queen.

WHERE WILL THE QUEEN BE RESTAURATED?

After the Westminster Abbey funeral, Her Majesty will travel to Windsor Castle, where she will then be taken to St George’s Chapel, her final resting place. Her late husband, Prince of Edinburgh, and her beloved parents, Queen Elizabeth II, will be buried with her.

After confirmation from Buckingham Palace, the sad news about The Queen’s death was first reported on BBC News. Following this, Liz Truss, the UK’s prime Minister, made an official speech outside 10 Downing Street. King Charles III also made a statement for the Royal Family.
