Ourtrend loves all things beauty, but fragrance is the one we love most. It’s a topic we can talk about for hours and never get tired of. We are always Slacking about the latest fragrance launches, our favourite perfumes, and how certain scents affect our body chemistry. It’s a way of life.

Perfume is a way for us to feel better. We were looking for a scent that we could use every day to remind people of us when we started using perfume. As we grew older, we realized that perfume could be more than a way to remind people about you. The perfect finishing touch for an outfit, a way of evoke a memory or to express how you feel, fragrance can be a form to express yourself.

Senior beauty editor Erin Jahns feels exactly the same about fragrance as I do. We took some time to determine which fragrances we believe are the best. We’ll still slack about perfume, but we now have a reference point to help us get started.

• Tom Ford Black Orchid Eau De Parfum ($136)

Notes: Black truffle, bergamot and black orchid. Also, patchouli.

“I think Tom Ford Black Orchid is a timeless classic that never gets tired and never feels cliché.”

“I would bathe in Tom Ford Black Orchid.”

• Tom Ford Private Blend Ebene Fume Eau De Parfum ($263)

The key fragrance notes are: Palo santo, ebony, and rose.

“Ebene Fume has become a new obsession. It reminds me of Black Orchid but is less fruity.”

• Tom Ford Private Blend Bitter Peach Eau De Parfum ($184)

The key fragrance notes are: Blood orange, cardamom and heliotrope accords, Peche de Vigne, Jasmine absolute Sambac, sandalwood.

“This trick was showed to me by a friend of mine with Costa Azzurra, which is just as amazing as it sounds. It’s even better when you layer it with Tubereuse Nue. Like actual drool.”

• Byredo Gypsy Water Eau De Parfum ($190)

Key fragrance notes: Bergamot and lemon, pepper, juniper, berries, incense pine needles, orris, amber, vanilla, sandalwood.

“Byredo has its own universe. Gypsy Water is a favorite of mine.”

• Byredo Blanche Eau De Parfum ($190)

Notes: White rose, pink bell pepper, aldehyde and violet, as well as neroli, peony.

“Blanche by EJ is so underrated. It is a wonderful, clean and crisp linens fragrance.”

• Byredo Young Rose Eau De Parfum ($270)

Notes: Sichuan pepper; ambrette seeds; damascena Rose; orris, ambroxan.

” Young Rose, which is younger, is my favorite of all times. It’s real heaven. It’s just perfect. I have worn it even though it is a bit squishy, which makes it ideal for summer.”

• Byredo 1996 ($290)

Notes: Juniper berries, black pepper, leather, orris and violet.

“It is so delicious. It’s not well-known, which is why I don’t understand why. It’s the hair perfume version that I own and I am obsessed.”

• Maison Margiela Replica Springtime In a Park Fragrance ( $135)

Notes: Lily of the Valley, Pear, and Musk.

“I have to wear Springtime in Park on the first day of April when the temperature is above 60 degrees. It’s non-negotiable.”

The key fragrance notes are: Aquatic accord and iris absolute.

“I am a controversial opinion but I will continue to wear Glossier You till my last breath. Glossier You seems like a great choice for this. It is a very unique scent that everyone will love. This, I suppose, is the point.”

Notes: Calabrian Bergamot, Sicilian Lemon, White Bouquet, Light and Musky Woods.

“It smells amazing. I even made my boyfriend wear it.”

• DedCool Fragrance 01 – “Taunt”, $90

Notes: Bergamot and fresh dew, cassis and vanilla are the key fragrance notes.

“More niche, but so good–DedCool. My favourites are Blonde and Taunt, but I would buy the entire collection.”

• Clean Reserve Radiant Nectar ($98)

The key fragrance notes are: Pear nectar, amberette seeds, and musk.

“It’s amazing how many people have fallen in love with it. They say it’s the most delicious thing they’ve ever gotten.”

• Le Labo The Noir 29 Eau De Parfum ($196)

Notes: Bergamot and bay leaves, black tea, vanilla, fig, hay tobacco, cedar, cedar, vetiver, musk.

“I walk all day in New York City, and all I can smell is Santal 33. I can do it all: in the gym, at work, in the subway, or in a bar. It’s great, but it needs to be varied. I would choose The Noir 29 if it were up to me.”

• Jo Malone London Wood Sage &. Sea Salt Cologne ($144)

The key fragrance notes are: Ambrette seeds and sea salt.

• Krigler English Promenade 19 Eau de Parfum ($435)

Key fragrance notes: Grapefruit, orange blossom, ylang ylang, and the neroli.

“Krigler is a great choice, especially with the Old Hollywood and royal history. Who wouldn’t love to be dressed in Grace Kelly or Audrey Hepburn? English Promenade 19 (Audrey Hepburn’s perfume!) It is a favorite all-time. It’s such a unique scent. It has a almost guttural scent to it, which I cannot place. It develops so well on skin.”

• Atelier Cologne Lemon Island Purfume ($80)

The key fragrance notes are: Jasmine, vanilla, and lemon.

“I have to add Atelier Cologne Lemon Island to the citrus category. It smells just like Sunday morning.”
