Smartwatches are growing in popularity, and with good reason. Smartwatches can perform many functions, from keeping track of your health and well-being, to making calls right from your wrist. But, the most well-known brands such as the Apple Watch Series 7, Galaxy Watch 5 and Fitbit Versa 4 can be quite expensive. We’ve put together a list of budget-friendly smartwatch alternatives for those who are looking for something affordable. Although a smartwatch that costs less than $100 will not have all the features of the top model, it is possible to get a good smartwatch that includes many of the essential tools that make these watches so useful.
These watches are compatible with both Android and iOS smartphones. They also have great features such as step, calorie and activity tracking, GPS, touchscreens and a heart rate monitor.
This smartwatch, in addition to all the basic features I have already mentioned, displays smart notifications from Android devices and can be used as a sleep monitor. This budget smartwatch actually had the best sleep tracking among the three I compared.
The 1.3-inch color screen is adequate, but not as bright as the other watches on this page. There are only four watch faces available.
The ID205L can track eight types of exercise — running, cycling and climbing, yoga and treadmill cardio, as well as sync your Apple Health data. The best smartwatch for tracking distance while outdoors, but you will need to bring your phone along as the watch has an integrated GPS instead of onboard GPS.
With regular use, the battery can last for 10 days. It can also be extended up to 30 days if it is kept in standby mode.
The best budget smartwatch is proof that even the most attractive features can be misleading. Its $65 price tag does not reflect its premium exterior or smart features. The NDur smartwatch features a sleek, metal frame and a comfortable strap. It also has a 1.4-inch color touchscreen that was brightest among the watches I tested. It is easy to see even in direct sunlight.
It can track seven types of workouts: running, biking, skiing, badminton and basketball. You’ll need to have your smartphone with you in order to track distances and map your workout routes.
However, sleep tracking isn’t as accurate as I thought. It assumed I was asleep while I was watching TV and washing dishes before going to bed. It is the only smartwatch that can monitor blood oxygen levels (or SpO2) on the spot. You can also get an instant reading of your blood pressure. Be aware, however, that notifications sent by the watch’s app sensors may not be medically cleared. They should not be used to replace medical devices or determine whether you need to seek treatment.
The battery can be used for approximately seven days.
Amazfit Bip S
Although the Amazfit GTS is the more expensive smartwatch, it has a lot more features than its less expensive sibling. The 1.3-inch TFT touchscreen is the same size as the Apple Watch Series 6, Galaxy Watch 3 and TicWatch Pro. It also works with Fitbit’s Inspire and Sense watches. Although the touchscreen isn’t as expensive as other watches, it does come with a backlight.
You can also use the built-in GPS on the Bip S to track your progress while out running or doing other outdoor exercises. The Bip S supports 10 types of exercise: running, cycling and treadmill cardio. It also supports spin, weights/freestyle yoga and indoor/outdoor swimming. The smartwatch will automatically pause your workout if it senses that you have not moved in a while. This smartwatch is affordable and offers the most variety of watch faces. You can also customize certain metrics such as weather, activity tracking, or heart rate monitoring.
The company claims that the BipS can last up to 40 days on standby. Regular use, such as a few GPS workouts and regular use, will increase the likelihood of getting 15 days between charges.
