AHA and BHA-based products are the best choices. They should not be used more often than once a week. Concentration of AHA/BHA should follow the recommendations of a dermatologist.
3. Be gentle with your skin.
Make sure you use the right cleanser. To prevent acne, use a cleanser containing salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide.
4. Avoid heavy or oil-based moisturizers.
They can clog pores, aggravate acne and cause skin to become more sensitive. Use light-weight, oil-free, gel-based moisturizers for acne-prone skin. Remember to use the right moisturizer for your skin, even if you have oily or acne-prone skin.
5. Make sure to remove all makeup completely.
