Thuy is undoubtedly a beauty aficionado. She speaks at a pace of a mile, naming her brands, describing her three-step eyebrow routine (more later), and telling me about her high school prom makeup. Her biggest piece of advice doesn’t have to do with appearance. Zoom reveals that there are many highs and lows to being an artist. “You are open to many opinions online, and sometimes they can be very negative.” Thuy uses the mirror to talk to herself about the negative inner monologues that can be caused by hostile comments. Thuy says, “At the end of the day nothing anyone says about you will aid your inner journey.” I have found inner peace by becoming self-aware, acknowledging my anxiety triggers and taking breaks.
Thuy also understands the transformative power that beauty can have on one’s sense of self. “Putting on your makeup and doing your hair instantly lifts your mood. People don’t always get it and will ask, “Why do you use your makeup so much?” She says. “But they don’t realize that all this isn’t for them. It’s all for me.”

It blends so well with my skin. I am obsessed with applying sunscreen every day and reapplying it as often as possible. It’s crucial. I wish I had been more meticulous with my sunscreen application when I was younger.
Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant
This is really, really good to use if you get those annoying bumps on your face; it helps smooth out texture and clears out your pores. It’s been a game changer for me. I just started using it, and I have seen dramatic improvements in my skin. I no longer need to use any other products that contain salicylic acid or benzoyl oxide.
Hydrating Facial Cleanser
It is simple and does the job. I have tried so many cleansers. I remember when I was in my 20s I had severe acne and would purchase everything to fix it. It’s all about the appearance of your skin. That’s why you will spend so much to get it gone.
Lip Butter Balm
When I go to sleep, I know that I will wake up feeling amazing.
Color Pencil
I don’t want this to sell out, but everyone needs to know that Morphe has the best lip liners in the game. To fill my lips, I use the shades Spiffy & Sweet Tea, then I apply a clear, sparkly glossy gloss.
Goof Proof Waterproof Easy Shape & Fill Eyebrow Pencil Brow Tint Pen
Eyebrows are a huge thing for me–I start off by outline and filling them in with this Benefit Brow pencil. The slanted shape makes it easy for you to create natural-looking eyebrow hairs. Next, I use Elf Wow Tinted Brow Gel. It’s one my favorites. It gives your eyebrows a stunning look and costs only three dollars. Nyx Lift and Snatch is the last product I’ll mention. It’s an ink pen which makes your eyebrows appear laminated.
