  • Balenciaga

Balenciaga again enjoyed one of Paris’ most talked about shows under Demna Gvasalia. The designer created an episode of The Simpsons instead of a runway. The 10 minute clip features Springfield residents including Homer Simpson. Homer sends Gvasalia an email asking him to send Marge a dress for her birthday. Bart, Lisa, and many others walk down the catwalk as the creative director. The animated video was accompanied by a red carpet that featured celebrities such as Elliot Page and Cardi B.

  • Chanel

Virginie Viard said that this season was about celebrating Chanel’s brand DNA, which is deeply rooted within photography. The designer spoke about Karl Lagerfeld’s passing and the ways he used to shoot fashion campaigns. “Today I call upon photographers. They see Chanel in a way I love.” She said that Chanel inspires and supports her. Inez & Vinoodh captured brand ambassadors Jennie, a BLACKPINK member, and Lily-Rose Depp holding a camera. Viard paid tribute to Lagerfeld’s early 1990s Chanel collections by wearing swimsuits and shorts with double C-brands. The brand’s classic tweed suit has been reimagined using sequins and a pastel yellow and pink knit.

  • Loewe

Loewe’s SS22 collection is described as “neurotic and psychedelic” and features a variety of unusual silhouettes. Metal plates were used to embellish dresses and denim shirts that were too large and were worn backwards. Top-and-bottom sets featuring cut-outs at knees were replaced by pastel blue and pink colors. The show’s highlight was accessories. Nail polish and cracked egg motifs replaced sandal heels with Flow runners.

  • Louis Vuitton

Nicolas Ghesquiere decorated Paris’ Louvre Museum with chandeliers for his latest Louis Vuitton Show. The collection explored the idea of time. It featured pannier dresses and embellishments that were ornate. Looks such as jeans paired with slip dresses and denim jackets with shiny trousers were examples of elements of juxtaposition. Accessorized with Art Nouveau-style sunglasses, headpieces and bulky bags, as well as lace-up sandals and lace-up sandals, the outfits were complete with bulky bags.

  • Miu Miu

Miuccia Prada explored office wear for Miu Miu’s SS22 collection. The collection was inspired by the ’00s with its emphasis on low-rise bottoms as well as micro-mini skirts. Models walked down the catwalk wearing cropped sweaters and barely covered bras in bandeaus, as styled by Lotta Volova. The show featured knee-length coats and shorts that were just below the knee. Frayed hems contrasted with the floral dresses later on. Miu Miu revealed a New Balance 574 collaboration, in beige or white colorways, during the show.
