Naomi Osaka’s NikeCourt Air Zoom GP Turbo is Ready for the US Open

The 2021 US Open will begin at the end August. It will see the best tennis players from around the world descend upon the USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center, Queens, New York, to battle it out on the hard courts.

Naomi Osaka is currently ranked #3 in world tennis. She’ll be there from both a competitive standpoint and sartorial. Her new Nike shoes, a special NikeCourt Air Zoom GP Turbo, will help her prepare for the tournament. The shoe was inspired by Osaka’s personal style, heritage and a memorable moment in US Open fashion — Andre Agassi walking to the US Open court in 1988 wearing jean shorts.

It is colorful and full of embellishments but still has serious tech. The uppers are made from acid-washed, light denim material. They feature a Japanese flag on one side and a Haitian flag the other side. The toebox features a gold-chain-inspired lace deubre, large leather Swooshes, and a circular “NY” badge. A large rubber overlay protects the wearer against the scuffs, scrapes, and sharp cuts. The full-foot Zoom Strobel cushioning system provides a responsive, Nike Basketball-inspired cushion. Sticky rubber outsoles provide lasting grip.

Naomi Osaka’s NikeCourt Air Zoom GP Turbo US Open is now available via Nike exclusive access. To purchase a pair, sign in to your Nike.com Account. The MSRP for the sneaker is $150 USD.
