Kanye West recreated his childhood home for the third and final DONDA listening party at Chicago’s Soldier Field. The performance featured all 27 tracks from his tenth studio, with an enthusiastic crowd. However, reports claim that he originally intended to move into Soldier Field. Kanye had to request the recreation after Chicago denied his permission to move his old residence into the stadium.
A representative of the Chicago Department of Buildings stated that Kanye was denied the request because it is “very technical” and requires multiple permits. The request to move the house located at 7815 South Shore Dr. was also denied due to the lack of a permit to excavate the property and move it, which is also in Demolition Court.
