- Princess Diana
The Gucci bag with bamboo handles, which Princess Diana inherited, is a strong fashion piece. This spacious accessory was launched in 1991. It quickly gained a lot of attention due to Princess Diana’s habit of carrying it when she went shopping in London. Gucci reissued this iconic tote in 20 years, with three different sizes and slight design modifications to reflect its modern-day aesthetic.
- Dakota Johnson
Johnson, a Gucci girl, wore a magenta gown with a bleeding-heart motif in heavy embellishment to the 2019 Met Gala. Notes On Fashion was the theme. Her stunning, high-shine gown was among the most beautiful red carpet outfits of the night.
- Harry Styles
Styles is the Gucci guy out of all the male muses at the Italian fashion house. Styles is well-known for wearing Gucci everywhere, even on the red carpet. (Remember his one pearl earring at the 2019 Met Gala? as well as on the stage at his concerts.) His leather and feather outfit from the 2021 Grammy Awards, which was arguably his most famous performance outfit, is undoubtedly the best. Styles wore a Gucci suit in black leather and a green feathery scarf. This immediately brought on what can only be described to as feather boa fever.
Rihanna clearly fell in love with Michele’s Gucci Fall/Winter 2017 collection. She wore the glitter catsuit, distressed jeans cutoffs and graffiti tank outfit she first spotted on Michele’s fall runway at Coachella that year. For RiRi drama, she added square-shaped sunglasses with embellished frames.
- Jacqueline Kennedy
Gucci introduced the Constance bag in 1958. It was a mid-sized, curved, hobo shoulder bag. The accessory was a cult-worthy accessory, with its versatile design that lends itself to subtle changes each season and its large yet not overwhelming silhouette. However, it didn’t make it to cult status. The bag was first used by Jacqueline Kennedy, former First Lady. Kennedy’s many outfits with the bag sparked a huge consumer interest, prompting Gucci to name the bag “The Jackie” back in 1964.
- Lupita Nyong’o
Nyong’o wore a Gucci custom-made, jade green Gucci dress to the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. - Gwyneth Paltrow
Ford’s influence at Gucci is reflected in the red velvet suit Paltrow wore for the 1996 MTV Video Music Awards. The crimson two-piece set, which was both masculine-inspired and undoubtedly sensual, was the standout piece from Gucci’s fall Gucci collection that year. Ford sent Gigi in a blazer made of ruby red velvet to pay homage Paltrow’s iconic suit 20 years later.
- Grace Kelly
Kelly was well-known for her sophisticated fashion sense. She would often use a silk scarf to add a finishing touch to her elegant looks. Rodolfo Gucci, the son of Guccio Gucci, gifted the Princess of Monaco a silk scarf with a Flora print. This was in recognition of her love for luxe accessories and to thank her for supporting Gucci. Kelly is seen wearing the scarf as an ascot in the above photo. It has been a part of visual history for the Italian label.
- Billie Eilish
