Our Instagram feed has been filled with photos of eclectic, colorful chunky jewelry for the past three months. The feed is filled with necklaces featuring luminous pearls and adorable pink hearts, bracelets made from intricate metal butterflies and matched with tiny yellow flowers, as well as rings with bright and bold brooches.
Most of the jewelry we’ve seen is created by young, emerging designers who work out of their home. This makes perfect sense as there have been many new jewelry sellers in the last few months. Many people turned to crafting to fill the time lost due to quarantine. It makes perfect sense that handmade jewelry will become more popular with the popularity of tie-dye and crochet. In the last six months, we have met multiple people who have started jewelry-making. These bold pieces are exciting and different after spending so much time in boring loungewear that we kept inside our homes. These pieces are refreshingly different from the monotonous quarantine months.
As a result, we’ve never been a big jewelry fan. We find it hard to spend the hard-earned cash on thin, silver accessories that go unnoticed. This new style of jewelry caught our eye. These statement-making pieces can make even the most mundane outfit stand out from the crowd. There are so many great pages online, but here are five jewelry companies to look out for in 2022.
- Beepy Bella
Beepy Bella, a brand you should know, is based in New York. It was founded by Isabella Lalonde in 2019. The site’s whimsical and beautiful jewelry is made from a variety of metalworkings and beads that combine to make a unique and wonderful whole. The silky pearl and sweet reindeer neckties are perfect for adding a touch of chic to any outfit. The brand has been worn by celebrities such as Bella Hadid, Olivia O’Brien, and Nylon magazines. Beepy Bella will be appearing in the next year. We are sure the page will continue to grow.
- Harlot hands
Jing Feng, a USC student, created Harlot Hands’ fun and eclectic jewelry. It is based in Los Angeles. Feng, a USC student, wrote that Harlot Hands was founded to explore myth and magic, nostalgia, playfulness, and notions realness/grace. The necklaces look like elaborate chandeliers. The jewelry can be combined with a variety of pearls, crystals and other pendants to create texture and color. This brand is on the rise with just over 5,000 followers.
- petri kitsch
This seller caught our attention when an image of sparkling silver hoops and bejeweled teeth appeared at the top on the Instagram feed. These ornate, shiny pieces are captivating and mesmerizing. This brand, like others, is able to balance an elegant and childish vibe in intricate jewelry. This brand’s Instagram feed is filled with delicate pearl and rhinestone necklaces, as well as delicate pendants.
But be warned: their sales are all conducted over DM on a first-come-first-serve basis, so you have to be on your game to snag one of the unique pieces.
This brand is handcrafted in Los Angeles with love. It emphasizes the unique nature of its extraordinary jewelry. Website states that “every piece is handcrafted only once” and often incorporates trinkets and other ephemera from childhood, symbols of Chinese Heritage, or vintage items which lived through decades long forgotten — an incidental convergence of a million chances, to never happen again.” Clairolime necklaces are a bold departure from what is expected of jewelry.
- lemon drop beads
Camille Shakirova, a Bay Area jeweler, has made the lovely Lemondropbeads necklace. These charming jewelry pieces combine luminescent pearls with crystal beads and glass pendants. They are slightly more wearable that some of the other sellers on this list, but still as original and creative. These versatile necklaces can be dressed up or down. Savannah Hudson paired her pearl choker and white tank top with her pearl choker, while Salem Mitchell wore it with a purple dress. Here too, sales are conducted over DM and occur on a first-come-first-serve basis.
These five amazing sellers have everything you need, from chunky rings to beautiful necklaces. Instagram is full of other incredible brands. We have to mention clunkygems, blo_oberry, and others. As a reward for completing 2021, you can buy yourself a unique necklace or gift a friend a stylish bracelet. This is a great way to support young artists and welcome the new year with style.
