With its rock-solid construction, reliable performance, and efficient interface, the has long been a popular EDC staple for medium-sized flashlights. The original light was a standard in everyday lighting and it is back in its third iteration. It brings all the great things about the light and makes tweaks to the right places, without having to reinvent the wheel.
The flashlight has its roots in tactical use, which explains the need for simple and efficient activation. The dual switch system uses the tail switch to handle constant activation and momentary activation. A side switch handles mode switching between six modes, allowing for a maximum of 1,700 lumens and mode memory. The side button can be pressed long enough to activate a strobe at maximum output in emergency situations. It also serves as a battery indicator.
The brand improves on its previous generation by nearly doubling its max output thanks in part to a new Luminus SFT40 LED, sitting at 1,700 lumens for up to 357 meters on Turbo compared to its predecessor’s 1,000 lumens. There are four regular modes available, including a 5-lumen Eco Mode that maximizes runtime up to 230hrs. The light uses a single, included 2600mAh 18650 rechargeable via micro USB, and is compatible with 2 x CR123A primary batteries.
Like most tactical-designed flashlights, the uses 6061-T6 aluminum for its body which offers light weight and durability, with construction rated for IP68 water and impact resistance. For a more secure grip, the midsection features a new knurling design and a friction pocket clip for extra EDC options.
