Many fans took to social media to express their feelings about Chadwick Boseman’s last appearance as T’Challa on the latest episode on Marvel and Disney+’s What If . Some expressed how they felt hearing Boseman’s voice, while others spoke out about the dedication at the end to the actor.

The latest episode of the animated series focuses on T’Challa’s alternate story as Star Lord, after he was kidnapped in Wakanda as an infant. His legacy as an actor and in Marvel’s world is as strong as it continues to this series. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige shared recently that Black Panther helped pave the way for their new film Shang-Chi.

“I recall seeing a viral video back when the Black Panther poster was first released.” He said, “It was a group of young men who were overwhelmed by excitement when they saw the poster. It was moving because people were excited to see the movie we were making.”

It was also an unfortunate realization that they were reacting in this way because they hadn’t seen it before. Panther was able to bring together the idea that “Everybody deserves the opportunity to be portrayed in such larger-than life ways.”
