“We’ve always believed that everyday carry isn’t solely about what you carry–how you carry your gear matters too. We’ve seen thousands of daily carry photos and pocket dumps all around the world over the past 10 years. This taught us the value of organizing your gear with everything in its proper place. We knew it was important to have everything within arm’s reach and not make you feel weighed down while you are on the move.

With these ideas in mind, we partnered with Manhattan Portage to create the Atlas Sling: a hybrid gear organizer pouch/sling bag, built tough using brand-name materials and hardware produced by a company with decades of experience making internationally renowned bags and luggage under their belt. After making the first run of the bag in 2019, and taking into consideration customer feedback, we went back on the drawing board to improve the Atlas Sling.

We’re excited to announce the all-new : built with the same design DNA that made the original Atlas Sling a success, but tweaked with feedback-driven optimizations resulting in a compact, yet even more versatile everyday carry solution. The original Atlas Sling was made to carry smaller EDC items such as pocket knives, wallets and pens. However, some users complained that it would be too small for larger items such as laptop chargers, power banks or compact cameras. We increased the “spine” of the Atlas Sling V2 by three to accommodate these items while still keeping the profile compact. This extra space allows you to carry more without weighing down the zipper or pressing against other bags. It also makes it easier to find your essentials when you need them. You can also fit up to three pens with the expanded spine.”

More loops and padding where it counts

The width of the central loop on the left-side grid’s webbing grid has been increased to twice its width. This gives you the flexibility to carry larger gear, in addition to the double-width loops at the bottom. This is useful when you need to distribute the weight of larger items higher into the bag. The mesh pocket has been removed, allowing you to access the double-width loop that secures bulkier items on your right side.

Pass-through rear compartment with stowable strap and tuck-away handlebar straps for bike commuting

When you need to use the Atlas Sling V2 for a pouch organizer, you can just unbuckle it and place it behind the mesh pocket. You would have to take the strap off, which reduced its utility for sling bags. The detached strap could be stored in one of the compartments. However, this took up valuable cargo space. This redesign eliminates that problem. Hidden in the pass-through area are two self-adhering hook and loop strips that can be used to attach the Atlas Sling V2 or other gear to the bag.

Built to Outlast: Functional Fabrics and High-end Hardware

The exterior is made from 1680D CORDURA (r) Ballistic Nylon, while the interior features hi-vis 420D nylon in Manhattan Portage’s signature red color. Custom YKK brand hardware completes the bag.

Heavy duty CORDURA nylon exterior: We use 1680D CORDURA(r) Ballistic Nylon for its toughness, abrasion resistance, and proven reliability in the field. There are three classic Atlas Sling V2 colors now available.

Smooth, hi-vis nylon interior: The Atlas Sling V2 keeps its 420D nylon interior. For quick identification at-a glance, the red color is a great addition to your gear’s visibility and contrast. The lighter weight of 420D nylon is durable, but it doesn’t add bulk. It also has a smoother surface that helps to avoid friction and snags when retrieving your gear.

Custom Japanese YKK zippers and hardware: We use carefully selected hardware from YKK to enable the Atlas Sling V2’s hybrid sling/pouch style. The central quick release buckle and anchoring clips on the strap can be adjusted to allow for comfort in any position. They are also strong enough to withstand repeated uses, such as when you transform the bag from a pouch organizer into a sling.

Seatbelt webbing strap and modular mount system You can attach MOLLE-compliant pouches and other lightweight gear to the same webbing at the front of your bag, further enhancing modularity.

Carry Your Way: Pouch Organizer or Sling Bag

The Atlas Sling is a lightweight, slim crossbody bag that can be worn on your back or front. You can wear the bag multiple ways thanks to the adjustable strap and D-rings. The bag is designed to be worn high and tight to ensure a secure fit on your back. The quick-adjust D ring at the front allows you to quickly release some of the strap tension. This allows you to sling the bag forward, and it will rest near your waist in a landscape orientation while you reach for your gear.
