The trailer for Weird, The Al Yankovic Story is out and Daniel Radcliffe looks set to finally get rid of his Harry Potter chains.

Some child actors can’t seem escape the role that made them famous, regardless of what they do.

As an example, take Daniel Radcliffe. The iconic role of Harry Potter, which was based on the best-selling books series, earned Radcliffe global fame at the age of eleven.

Radcliffe has not played Harry Potter since 2011. He has seriously branched off and has played a wide range of characters throughout the years, including a troubled man obsessed about horses (Equus), a corpse(Swiss Army Man), a singing window washer (“How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying”) and a timid angel (“Miracle Workers”).

Yet, Radcliffe is still referred to by most as “the boy that lived”. All that is changing soon. Radcliffe will star in the film Weird : The Al Yankovic Stories – a comedy biopic about Grammy-winner Weird Al’ Yankovic’s rise and fall to fame.

The trailer for the film has just dropped. Radcliffe appears to have taken a lot of Polyjuice Potion in order to become Yankovic. Radcliffe has a curly hair, thick moustache, and a Californian accent.

Yankovic agrees. Yankovic himself stated earlier this year that he was “absolutely thrilled” to be played the role by Daniel Radcliffe in the film. “This is the role that future generations will be able to remember Radcliffe for, and I am certain of it.”

Weird: The Al Yankovic story also stars Evan Rachel Wood (of Westworld fame) as Madonna, and Rainn Wilson, who is best known for his role as Yankovic’s mentor, Dwight on The Office.

The film will be released on November 4th on The Roku Channel. In the meantime, the trailer for Weird – The Al Yankovic Story can be viewed online. It’s amazing…
