2020 was filled with curveballs, and we don’t just mean fashion. Just when we thought that we had enough surprises, something else would occur. We wish we could predict that the madness will end in 2021. But we don’t know yet.
The fashion trends for the end of the 2022 are… unpredicted, to be honest. We’re prepared for anything after this year. We are not surprised that there will be some bizarre trends in 2022 after such a turbulent 2021. These include strappy, cutout dresses, super-cropped sweaters, and ruffle collars. Things will look different next year but in an interesting and fresh way. This is a welcome departure from the minimalistic minimalism that we have seen for many years.
The good news? Below are the trends we are betting on.
- Matin Wide Leg Pant
Price – $290
Sandra H. Sauceda is an Instagram user. You may have thought about sizing up in your clothes if you follow her. We are seeing pants get more baggy and baggier in the next year, which is a good thing. To achieve the look, choose a long leg and size up.
- Proenza Schouler Padded Leder Sandals
Price – $725
Bottega Veneta was the first to create pillow-shoes from upcycled materials. Finally, a trend in heels that is actually comfortable. The footwear department is going to be filled with these thick, cushiony straps and other details. These Proenzas are so comfortable you might as well be walking on cloudy ground.
- Simon Miller Blackout Platform
Price – $490
Although it may not be the color you are used to seeing in your feeds, it certainly makes a statement. This color is expected to gain significant momentum into next year.
- Ganni Cotton Knit Beret
Price – $95
The beret will return in full force for the fall 2021 and winter 2021/2022, so we’ll just blame Emily from Paris. Instead of wool and felt berets you can try crochet styles like this one by Ganni with grommet accents.
- RetroSuperFuture Zed Glasses
Price – $269
You can expect sunglasses to become bolder, larger, and sportier. They should look more like the glasses you get at the dentist. Bottega is the leader in this new borderline-goggle style.
- Maison Soksi Zan Tights
Price – $195
Tights are fun, and they’re only going to get better. Bold, patterned tights can make a big impact on any skirt or dress.
- Gentle Spring Tapestry Corset
Price – $330
The bustier may very well be the most popular choice in 2022. For maximum contrast, pair it with baggy jeans or sweatpants (we are here to help you). Gentle Spring’s unique, custom-made corsets will last a lifetime in your wardrobe.
